The Roquettière 1.5 ounce Angostura 7 year old Rum 1.0 ounce St. Germain 0.5 ounce Lime Juice 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters 6 Arugula leaves, save 4 for Garnish -In a shaker, muddle Arugula VERY well -Add remaining ingredients and hard shake -Double strain into a highball glass filled with Ice -Garnish with a Lime wheel and Arugula flag.
For those that may not know, the Rickey is DC’s native cocktail and every summer the DC Craft Bartenders Guild celebrates our hometown creation with a contest. Here’s my submission:
The 96th Degree Rickey
2.0 ounces Woodford Reserve Bourbon
0.75 ounce Lime Juice
0.50 ounce House made Hibiscus & Habanero Cordial
Coconut Soda to fill
Mix all ingredients in a highball glass over ice and stir to combine. Garnish with lime.
